Description of the project

The director of the play, Josep Galindo, and the playwright of the same, Pablo Ley, and the musical director Javier Gamazo,

"Alice no longer lives here" represents a tragicomic and impressionistic portrait of the daily life of women during the time of Franco's rule. A particular journey that has taken us since 1939, the time of the defeat of the Republic, and which ends in 1981, the year in which, already in democracy, the involutionist coup attempt of 23-F takes place with that "sit down, pussy!"
Four decades of submission of women by the de facto powers: man, family, church, police, state, press, advertising, and so on. The result is between literary cabaret and documentary theater with songs performed live.
The session on the 10th will have a subsequent talk with the director and playwright of the play. The company Projecte Galilei wants to share with the audience the questions that were asked when preparing this show: How has the concept of women in Spain evolved? How do we remember the women of the ¿long postwar¿ (1939-1981)? How was women treated through songs, film and the media (TV, magazines)? How was the sexual repression suffered by women in those years?
An invitation to discuss informally and to participate with your opinions in this portrait of women.
