The aim of the acting workshop is for participants to experience first-hand the experience of an acting class, where they will be aware of their emotions, their body and their voice.
The workshop usually starts with a circle where everyone is asked to come out and introduce themselves with a sentence, in order to be aware of the visual connection and group cohesion. Communication with the group is important, and at this point students become aware that their voice needs to be understood and projected. We say who we are, how we say ourselves and how we feel, and in this way we are also working with our energy, looking into each other’s eyes and connecting with different emotions. With this first dynamic we have, therefore, the first sensation of an action scenario.
The workshop continues with a dynamic of warm-up and group cohesion. These are basic games where energy is worked on with body and vocal exercises. We work out exercises to get out of our thinking and connect with our body. We play with our body at different speeds and intensities.
Another dynamic of work in the workshop is the quick improvisations in pairs, through the experience of conflicts. What emotion this conflict causes them and how to solve it with imagination, being creative and using different types of emotions. So we learn to work on explosiveness, the importance of taking charge of these conflicts and how to deal with them.
In the final part of the workshop we play with the dramatizations, that is, we do scenes where we work as a team and they have to live a situation in the most real way possible. Therefore, we put into practice everything we have worked on in the previous dynamics: energy, voice, emotional connection, believing in the situation… In these dramatizations we involve the audience in the situations that are generated on stage. At the genre level of the scenes, we can work on both comedy and mystery or action. This allows us to enter different universes and various ways of interpreting.
Always, at the end of the workshop, a circle is formed again where the students value the experience of the workshop with a single word or a short sentence.
