Specific access test

The Department of Education convenes each year the tests that must be passed by people who want to access Higher Artistic Education (music, dance, dramatic art, conservation and restoration of cultural assets or design). To access these courses, you must, on the one hand, meet the academic requirements (have a high school diploma or equivalent) and, on the other hand, pass a specific access test which aims to verify that applicants have the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to take advantage of them. The specific test is performed in person at the center where
it is intended to be accessed.

People who do not have the necessary qualification to access any of the higher artistic education (that is, those who do not have the degree of
baccalaureate), must be done a test for aspirants without the academic requirement.

So, the specific access test they have to do it ALL people who want to access some of the higher artistic education, whether they have the
approved high school as if they have passed the test by aspirants without the academic requirement.

The artistic lessons of a higher degree in Dramatic Art will aim to generate the qualified training of professionals in the fields of Interpretation, Performing Direction and Dramaturgy and in those areas of knowledge and research linked to them. The ideal profile for the candidate for the access test is quite broad and may be open to various profiles and characteristics given the creative nature of a training based on the difference and the uniqueness of the aspiring. However, there are a number of characteristic types that are valued at the time of establishing the suitability of the access profile, and they take us to a series of thematic reflections.

The age profile in the two specialties is variable. Age is not considered as a differential feature that makes it difficult or easy to enter, neither in a positive nor in a negative way. But the variety of ages in the two specialties is considered a positive distinctive feature. In spite of everything, often aspiring to the specialty of Performing Direction and Dramaturgy, they have an older profile than Interpretation. However, this would never be a discriminatory criterion.

It may be interesting to have simultaneously students with different experiences; both those who have previous training or experience, and those who without tangible artistic experience show some basic qualities that are positive for learning the training.

Artistic sensitivity and originality

The potential artistic sensibility of the candidates and their originality will be valued as a positive differential feature, rather than their previous training experience in the two specialties.

Intellectual sensitivity

It will also value, apart from intellectual knowledge and cultural preparation, the intellectual sensitivity shown by the participants to the proof of access.

Qualities for teamwork

It is positively valued for the success of the completion of the studies that the student has qualities and communicative capacities to establish the dialogue and to work as a team.

Previous studies

In the two specialties it is essential that the students have completed and passed the second year of Baccalaureate or have a degree in access to higher or university studies equivalent guaranteed or validated by the Generalitat of Catalonia.
