Description of the project

Sol Carner and Íngrid Machuca, alumni of the Degree in EAS, at the show “For Evita. A musical astracanada" at the Teatre Grec.

There are those who believe in aliens, there are those who believe in God and there are those who believe in Lewandowski or George RR Martin... There are also those who believe in Eva Perón, like the convenors of this celebration, a group of perones, as they say, that they will tell you about Evita and sing you songs. Some have to do with what is being told and others come from the musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice. So you will hear from a medley of songs by the great Raffaella Carrà to No ploris per mi, Argentina, among many other songs conveniently translated into Catalan. Eva Perón is one of the essential characters to discuss the recent history of Argentina and, despite the years that have passed since she died in 1952, there is still no consensus on her figure. Defender of the most disadvantaged or manipulative populist? There are those who are very clear about it, such as the convenors of the evangelical mass that will be held at the Montjuïc site. And it is that, without her, who filled Franco's Spain with beans in times of famine, who dared to tell the generalísimo and his lady, Doña Carmen, what they did not want to hear, and who saved his life to Concha Márquez Piquer by getting him the imported medicine he needed, our whole life would have been different.

July 27 and 28 at the Teatre Grec in Barcelona.
