"First the word and then the music, from Monteverdi to Stephen Sondheim"
We will consider questions such as the following:
- How do we go from singing to the scene?
- How is a body that sings in stage material organized?
- How can this stage material guide and open us to new technical-vocal resources?
- What relationship or commitment do we have to style? Do we have to make technical sacrifices?
- Are we aware of the technical resources common to some musical styles?
These and other questions are what we will consider in these masterclasses. We will work based on the student's level and their interests. We will emphasize the Italian, German and French baroque repertoire (XVII-XVIII) by authors such as: Monteverdi, Cavalli, Caccini, Frescobaldi, Scarlatti, Handel, Bach, Buxtehude, Telemann, Luly, Rameau… classical repertoire: Mozart, Gluck, others. Lederistic repertoire (in any language) and obviously all that musical theater repertoire from its creation to the present day.
