I ARRIVE IN MIDDLE AFTERNOON
CLAUDIA SERRAHIMA

SYNOPSIS

How many stories are hidden at the bottom of the sea? How many memories have been wrecked? If the decks and sails of ships could talk, what would they tell us?

The captain of the merchant marine Joan Espinàs and his wife Carme Xivillé are the protagonists of a correspondence of more than fifty years (between 1917-1965): more than 3700 letters, telegrams, telephone calls and postcards that have survived throughout these years thanks to three generations.

Between the two of them, they tell their family history, their love, but also the local and world history of the first half of the 20th century. The sea separates them (water) and the cards unite them (paper). That is why, starting from paper as a material and water as a primary element, we dare to give voice to this story among the stories.
