"All Those Things" by Davo Marin, which shows eight dancers forming a dynamic human pyramid on the beach. The pyramidal composition stands out against the blue sky and sea.

EÓLIA EMERGING SCENE 2026

How many times did he have to send this questionnaire until he found you? Do you remember the waves lapping against the wooden pier? Do you remember the piano melody that reached you from inside the house? Do you remember him standing with the wooden easel, further back, while your mother talked to you?

Why don't you want to remember?

What is the first cassette you remember listening to? What happened in the back of the house? Do you remember the day you climbed the steep hill? Were you there when his eyes got cloudy?

Why have you refused to answer these questions?

Memory is the brain's ability to capture, store, transform (to a certain extent), clean and forget the experiences we live.
Memories, on the other hand, would be the elements that memory stores. That is, that part of memory that we can evoke, recover.
The problem is that what we don't remember we don't know if it is part of the memory or not, in short, if it has already been definitively erased.
"There were times when I couldn't remember, because I couldn't remember without feeling terrible."

There are many ways to reach a memory. The story, the place or the emotions are the basis of our strongest memories. But we do not remember all the details of all our experiences. We use knowledge that we already had or our prejudices and beliefs. If there are empty spaces… we fill them. Memories are transformed, constructed… and, sometimes, they lie to us.

If you see the sea quickly without giving it importance, it may seem reassuring. But if you look at it, if you look directly at it and observe it. If you fix your gaze on the enormous waves, then you realize the enormous beast that is hiding. It looks like a monster waiting to devour you. And if you go in too far, if it drags you in more than you can handle…
