Description of the project

Paula Malia, alumni of the Free Training and teacher at El Planter, and Tai Fati, former student of El Planter, in "La nostra ciutat" at Teatre Lliure.

The director Ferran Utzet brings to the stage the legendary Our Town, by the American playwright Thornton Wilder, Pulitzer Prize for theater 1938. A meta-theatrical piece about what it means to be human.

In a theater, the councilwoman introduces the rural town of Grover's Corners, in New Hampshire (USA), to the public and its inhabitants: the Gibbs and Webb families, who are neighbors. Especially Emily Webb and George Gibbs, who will soon fall in love and get married. Over the course of twelve years, the changes in the life of this couple will be followed: from worldliness to devastation through romance. A microcosm of the cycle of life that is, in the words of playwright Edward Albee, "the best American play ever written."

From October 11 to November 12 at Teatre Lliure.
