Description of the project

Chronicles of the Chinatown of Barcelona it wants to be a show of a time where the current Raval neighborhood (and more specifically, from Carrer Nou de la Raval to the Portal de Santa Madrona) was a place of recreation in the broadest sense of the term, mythologized and known worldwide, despised by false moralists and praised by literary giants of the highest level Where humble and hard-working people mingled - in the most perfect of harmonies - with the so-called "social scum". And all this, we will try to do, dust off the scores of some old tangos, reviving poems of the time, showing images and reporting mournful events...or,...perhaps, not so much.

With this show, Pere Sagristà-Ollé, artist and creator "voluntarily" ends his career as stage director. After 45 years (1979-2024) of giving instructions "sur les planches", and with a little more than 50 premiered shows, these "Chronicles" will be his last stage mutis.
