Description of the project
Marc Pociello and Carla Gaya, alumni of musicals, were two of the protagonists of “What. El Nou Musical ”directed by Àngel Llàtzer and Manu Guix, Mariona Castillo, musical theater teacher, also participates and the text is by Àlex Mañas, professor of acting Aeolian.
It is a story of overcoming. Five juvenile offenders with open causes are entering a values awareness program while awaiting a firm verdict from the judge. The person in charge of directing this program is Josep, the tutor, who is facing his first experience as head of a group of this nature. Young criminals combine social benefits (cleaning activities of all kinds) with group dynamics supervised by Josep. Very soon Josep will realize that the theory is very far from practice and that the execution of the program is really difficult: tensions and fights between them, physical and verbal aggression, inattention to group dynamics, distrust of authority, demotivation in the face of scheduled tasks… Josep does not give up and after some failures, finds the solution: offer the power of self-management to young people. From that moment until the end, the young people choose the activities they want to do
At 2009 he got the Chair Prize to the best musical composition.
