Frequently asked questions2025-05-29T12:47:33+02:00

These studies we offer are a university specializationIt is essential that you have a higher education or a professional experience that validates your knowledge in the subject. This curricular experience is assessed in a personalized interview and helps us decide your suitability. Remember that this is not an initiation.

Temps. Writing a musical (the one proposed in the Master's Final Project) involves many hours of dedication. The first part of the Master, for example, offers a theoretical framework with many practical exercises to understand the history of musical theatre, the most representative composers of the genre, give tools to structure the libretto of the musical that we will write, understand how the lyrics of songs and melodies are organized. This will require many hours of work at home. Every week you will have to write lyrics of songs, melodic lines of songs, songs... If you see that you do many activities during the day and do not have time to dedicate yourself to the Master, we recommend that you wait until you have time to sign up for it.

Not necessarily, but it will be easier for you if you know some. In the Master's there are two core subjects: Composers of the genre i Composition which place a lot of emphasis on the musical part. Harmony, orchestration, modes… If all this is completely unknown to you, you will probably feel lost. Remember that the Master is mainly aimed at licensed musicians, composers and musical theater actors (We assume that you will have minimal musical training if this is the case.) If you are a playwright, we will most likely recommend that you take a course as an audience member.

It is not essential., but you will do very well because most of the material we have is not translated. Consider that within the tasks of the first part of the course we view a lot of material and analyze letters in the language in which they were written.

The Taller de Músics and the EÒLIA Center for Dramatic Art are committed to a Master's degree that promotes the creation of musical theater in CatalanIt is not essential that you speak Catalan, but it is important that you are clear that the classes will be taught in this language.

Yes. You can register as a listener.Listeners only have the option of attending the subjects ofHistory of musical theatre, Dramaturgy of Musical 1, Lyrics Workshop 1 and Representative composers of the genre, Song direction and the master classes. Composition It is a subject that can only be taken by students enrolled in the entire Master's degree.

YesIt is important because the level of demand is high and the age involved in having completed higher education presupposes a certain intellectual maturity. As a listener you can attend in classes and it is the teacher's discretion to let you participate more or less in the subject.

We would love to be able to answer yes, but right now, the type of practical work we do and the interaction between students and teachers makes it very difficult to follow online classes. We prefer to spend the time that this technological investment would involve in improving other aspects of the Master. only subjects that will eventually be available online they are History of musical theatre i Representative Composers of the Genre.

Yes. We don't close the door to anyone, but we reward people who organize themselves in time. If you want to take the Master's, contact us because we offer discounts in the enrollment for people who sign up before the summer.

The Master lasts one year divided into two semesters.

Indeed, we are class Tuesday and the Wednesday during the morning so that you can combine training with your work. It is important that you reserve Thursday mornings because we periodically hold master classes with professionals in the sector that we think are interesting for you to meet: creators, producers, performers, composers, lawyers specializing in intellectual property rights, etc.

The objective of the Master is write a musical. Have a booklet with the scores of the songs ready to begin the pre-production process. Once the Master is finished we do what is called a backer audition where we invite people from the world of production so you have the opportunity to show them the material.

Taking advantage of the opportunity that the Eòlia school, one of the promoters of the Master, is a Higher Center of Dramatic Art, we offer the possibility for students to help you in this small presentation that you will have to design. You will have about 30” to present your project and show the songs and/or scenes. Don't worry, in the subject of Song direction We will help you design this presentation.

Right now the Master it is not officialIt is not yet in the official circuit, although it does not serve to access a doctorate, but we are processing it so that it will be soon.

On the other hand, students at the end of the academic year (if all teachers agree) receive a degree endorsed by EÒLIA Higher Center for Dramatic Art and the Musicians' Workshop.
