EÓLIA EMERGING SCENE 2024
JULIA MASNOU
Un an illustration student and a young worker on their first day of work in a Thai restaurant, where everything is very spicy and has peanuts, they take a subway to reach their destination. Due to a collision on the tracks in the middle of a tunnel (very strange, but not impossible) they are stuck to their fate. Without coverage and made a bag of nerves they wait for the vehicle to start again.
Their only distraction will be talking to each other. People on the subway will seem interesting enough to them, more than anything else there, and that's how, as the wait goes on, they invent the lives of the rest of the passengers. The misfortunes they bring upon others are part of the fun for these young people who begin to forget why they were there in the first place. A place without a fixed destination, an accident, a cluster of people of all ages and genders with no place to go or be able to move forward.
next station it wants to embody the reality of all the generations that live in this world and the different problems that connect them to each other. Through humor, sensitivity and a bit of drama, the play tries to talk about precariousness in all its areas, be it working conditions, the difficulty of finding work or living in decent housing or research of a person who loves you unconditionally.
A piece for all those who take the metro line at some point in our lives and think during the journey: "What the hell am I doing here?".
