EÓLIA EMERGING SCENE 2025

Direction: Laura Giberga

SYNOPSIS
In the middle of the vast ocean, floats the island of trash, folded with plastics-leftovers of our existence, where three characters survive trying to forge a new civilization. Power will begin to exert its corrupt influence and different positions will begin to emerge: Aurea is committed to consensus and cooperation. Bill is bent on laws, order and discipline. Clic lets himself be influenced as he sees fit, discovering along the way the power he can gain from others through love and fear. As disagreements become more visible, the lines between good and evil blur.

ADDRESS NOTE

The very politics of history, of newspapers, of television, is often shown as a brawl of schoolyard creatures fighting for power, neglecting the common good for which they have been elected. In the assemblies, read as a community act, hierarchies and leaderships also end up being created there. In the squat houses, where the values of the left prevail as a starting point, divisions or radical prohibitions are also generated, such as whether meat or other foods can enter their cafeterias in order to integrate and respect fellow vegans , vegetarians and/or various allergies. Social networks, already configured with their algorithms, also constantly divide and radicalize society. Becoming radicalized is the easiest thing to do these days and perhaps we need to pay attention to being a little more flexible or simply to become more aware that coexistence requires a great deal of effort.
