Documentary theater. Dramaturgical process and writing in 1936

There is a wide variety of possibilities and ways to bring historical and real events to the stage with the intention of making what is often generically called documentary theatre. We will try to make an approach and some reflections around this label, focusing on the recent case of 1936, directed by Andrés Lima, investigating its process of dramaturgical creation.

ALBERT BORONAT
Stage creator, playwright and theatre teacher. He has a degree in philosophy from the University of Barcelona and in Stage and Dramaturgical Direction from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. He was founder, playwright and co-director of the award-winning company Projecte Nisu, which premiered the shows (Proyecto de Navegación Incendiaria y Salvamento Unilateral) which premiered the shows VI'm afraid of Guti.; Waits FM.; Yawn 2.0; shell i Teenage dream; and is the author of texts such as Snorkel; This is not a suitable place to die; Bardammour or die smiling at the moon; or the recent A house in the mountains which gives its name to the project initiated together with the actors Javier Beltrán and Sergi Torrecilla. His practice also includes collaboration with other companies and creators. Within this area of ​​collaboration, his work with the director and playwright Andrés Lima stands out, with whom he has worked on productions such as 1936; Shock. The condor and the puma; Shock. The storm and the war; Prostitution; or its version of the comedy of errors, by William Shakespeare directed by the same director. Also examples of these collaborations are works such as Nodi. Of dogs and damned, with La Moukhles & Sentís;  From ridges to the sky i Wind from Garbí and a little fear, with Judith Pujol, or TV & Misery of the Second Transition i It's not every day that someone needs us., with Carme Portaceli, among others. He also regularly collaborates as a playwright with the Teatre l'Artesà in El Prat de Llobregat. His texts have received several national and international awards and recognitions.
